Love is love.
The RioT was full & colorful when we hosted Nashville SC. On Saturday, May 15 we celebrated our 4th annual Pride Night at the RioT. The boys in Claret & Cobalt donned Major League Soccer's pride warm up top before during pregame festivities. The player-worn pride warm up tops will be auctioned off in June with proceeds benefiting RSL Community Diversity & Inclusion Fund. In addition to Pride theme merch, corner flags & graphics we also hosted 30 families from the Encircle House, staff from the Utah Pride Center, as well as members from the Youth Family and Education Department of the Utah Pride Center.
Our three game homestand came to a conclusion on Saturday as we hosted Nashville SC for the first time in club history. We saw Anderson Julio return to the XI following a short break for injury precaution. Head Coach Freddy Juarez kept the remainder of the lineup the same in hopes for ending the night with three points.
Freddy Juarez made his first sub of the night in the 75' minute giving Ashtone Morgan his RSL debut. Ashtone came on for defender Donny Toia hoping to help the lads get on the scoreboard.
In the 83' minute coach made his final change of the evening swapping Homegrown Andrew Brody for Noah Powder adding a second RSL debut & MLS to the game notes.
After using four of the five available subs the boys ended the night with a clean sheet, the first for Homegrown goalkeeper David Ochoa. They secured a point in front of the home crowd before heading on the road to take on FC Dallas on Saturday, May 22 at 5:30PM.
We'll be back in front of RSL faithful on May 29 taking on Minnesota United FC.
